  25. I've checked that distribution.  None of the distributions cantain
  26. libX11.a or .sa.  I now one or the other is not required with ELF.  
  27. Nevertheless, I can't compile X programs.  For example:
  28. gcc -o x-prog x-prog.c -I/usr/X11R6/include -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lX11 
  29. gives a library not found error.
